300 SEL 4.5 - 1972
The 300 SEL 4.5 was only built for the export. Because the 300 SEL 6.3 was no longer able to meet the exhaust regulations in the USA, the new 4.5l engine, which was intended for the W116 series, was used in advance. In a period of 2 years, 2,553 models with this engine were produced.
Condition
This car has been completely and extensively restored to the smallest detail at Kienle. The list of the works which were carried out is very long, for this reason only a small extract: The paint of the body was completely removed and painted in the original color, the interior equipment were worked up, the chromed parts got new chrome-plated. All assemblies such as engine, gearbox, axles, brake system, air suspension have been repaired in according to factory regulations. This 300 SEL 4.5 is probably the best car which is offered for sale.
